Navigating the system

UI walk-through, user access, task system, and change history

Updated this week

User Interface

PLAIO’s interface is organized around modules that correspond to planning functions: Demand, Supply, Production, and Data Management. Each module contains unique views for detailed planning work.

The main navigation menu on the left provides access to all modules. Users can collapse or expand this menu to maximize workspace. Within each module, worksheets share a consistent layout with three main areas:

  1. Worksheets: The main grid displaying records and planning data.

  2. Filters Panel: Expanding from the side of the navigation menu, filters allow users to refine visible data by SKU, market, status, or other configurable attributes.

  3. Details Section: Clicking a row opens deeper information specific to that line, including Supply Overview Grid, charts and related data.

Users can customize their view by pinning columns, hiding columns, grouping data, and rearranging column order. The interface supports light and dark themes.

Access Management

PLAIO uses role-based access control to manage what users can see and do within the system. Access is controlled at the module level (Demand, Supply, Production, Masterdata) with four permission levels:

  1. No Access: User cannot see the module.

  2. View: User can see data but cannot make changes.

  3. Edit: User can view and modify data within the module.

  4. Upload: User can view, edit, and upload data files to the module.

Administrators can create custom roles by combining permissions across modules. For example, a Demand Planner role might have Edit access to Demand and View access to Supply, while a Supply Planner role might have Edit access to Supply and View access to Demand. User roles are assigned through the Access Management section in Settings.

Task System

The Task system enables collaboration and issue tracking within PLAIO. Tasks can be created from any worksheet row, allowing planners to flag items for follow-up, assign work to team members, or document decisions.

Tasks can be accessed through multiple entry points: directly from worksheet rows using right-click, from the line-level detail view, or from the central Task Dashboard. The Task Dashboard provides a unified view of all tasks, whether assigned to you or by you.

Each task includes a title, due date, status, assignee, and comment history. Tasks can be linked to specific SKUs, planning records, or exceptions, making it easy to navigate from a task directly to the relevant data.

Change History

PLAIO tracks manual edits made to worksheet data, providing a change log for planning decisions. The Change History feature records what was changed, who made the change, and when it occurred.

Changes are displayed at the row level, showing old values and new values for edited fields. This supports compliance requirements by documenting planning adjustments and enables teams to understand the evolution of their plans over time.

The Change History view can be accessed from worksheet rows, allowing planners to review the modification history for specific items without leaving their current context.
