UI walk-through & user access

Updated over a month ago

The Navigation Menu and User Settings help you access all areas of PLAIO quickly and customize your user experience. This section explains how to switch between modules, update your profile, manage account settings, and personalize the appearance of your workspace.

Navigation Menu

The navigation menu is located on the left side of the PLAIO interface and allows you to move seamlessly between the main modules. Each of these modules includes worksheets tailored to different planning and operational needs.

  • Demand

  • Manufacturing

  • Purchase

In addition to the main modules, you’ll also find access to supporting sections:

  • Tasks

  • Data Management

  • Settings

Tip: You can collapse or expand the menu using the arrow button at the top of the panel, allowing you to maximize your workspace

User Settings

At the bottom left of the navigation panel, clicking on your username opens the user settings menu, where you can:

  • Update account information (name, email)

  • Change password / Enable 2FA

  • Upload or update profile picture

User Access Management

PLAIO uses role-based access control to manage what users can see and do within the system. Access is controlled at the module level (Demand, Supply, Production, Masterdata) with four permission levels:

  1. No Access: User cannot see the module.

  2. View: User can see data but cannot make changes.

  3. Edit: User can view and modify data within the module.

  4. Upload: User can view, edit, and upload data files to the module.

Administrators can create custom roles by combining permissions across modules. For example, a Demand Planner role might have Edit access to Demand and View access to Supply, while a Supply Planner role might have Edit access to Supply and View access to Demand. User roles are assigned through the Access Management section in Settings.

Theme and Language Settings

PLAIO allows you to customize and personalize your viewing experience through its interface settings:
