Introduction
PLAIO Worksheets are the core of your daily planning and data management, while Action Button and interactive chart features help you control your view, export your data, and explore visual insights with more flexibility. This section covers the main utilities available and how to adjust graphs within the platform.
Worksheet Layout
Each worksheet is divided into three key areas:
Data Grid: Your central workspace where rows of data are displayed and edited.
Filters Panel: A sidebar on the left that allows you to filter data by any column.
Details Section: Appears when a row is selected and shows more specific information.
Clicking a row will activate the Details Section to show more context, such as task lists, demand insights, or product breakdowns. To deselect a row, press the space bar.
Row Actions
Right-clicking on any row reveals useful options for interacting with data:
Action | Description |
Create New Task | Open a task modal linked to that row's context. |
Copy / Copy with Headers | Copies the selected values. |
Chart Range | Visualize the data using chart options like bar or line. |
Column Options and Layout Control
Columns in the Data Grid are interactive. Right-clicking a column allows you to:
Sort ascending or descending
Pin the column to the left or right
Group by this column
Auto-size the current or all columns
Show/hide specific columns using "Choose Columns"
Reset back to the default column layout
Expand or collapse all row groups
Grouping Data
Grouping organizes data by categorizing similar items for better tracking and analysis. It helps compare values, identify trends, and simplify planning. Grouping by multiple columns provides deeper insights by combining different factors for more precise decision-making.
Right click on a column then "Group by X" in the column options drop down (above). If you want multiple groupings, drag the columns you also want to the group area above the column.
Chart Views
Interactive charts in PLAIO allow zooming, resetting, and toggling views for deeper exploration. Click on any row to view the charts. Press the space bar to remove the chart from view.
Toggle Data Series
You can show or hide data series in a chart by clicking on items in the legend. Hidden series will appear faded in the legend. This allows you to compare specific parts of your data visually without clutter.
Quick Statistics
PLAIO allows you to view basic statistics on any group of numeric cells in the grid instantly. Whether you’re looking for totals, averages, or trends at a glance, this feature gives you quick insight without needing to export your data or run calculations manually.
Click and drag over a section of a chart to aggregate details in on a specific time period or data slice.
Right click on the selected cells to create quick charts.
Change History
PLAIO tracks manual edits made to worksheet data, providing a change log for planning decisions. The Change History feature records what was changed, who made the change, and when it occurred.
Changes are displayed at the row level, showing old values and new values for edited fields. This supports compliance requirements by documenting planning adjustments and enables teams to understand the evolution of their plans over time.
The Change History view can be accessed from worksheet rows, allowing planners to review the modification history for specific items without leaving their current context.
Action Button Utilities
The Action Button is located at the top-right corner of every worksheet. Clicking it reveals key functions:
Action Button Option | Description |
Refresh Data | Reloads your worksheet with the latest updates |
Export to Excel | Downloads your current grid view as an |
